About the church
We are a branch church of The First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts. The Christian Science Church was started over 125 years ago by Mary Baker Eddy "To organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing." (pg. 17 Church Manual of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts by Mary Baker Eddy)
Definition of Church and the divine Principle upon which our church is built: Love
"The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle.
The Church is that institution, which affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race,
rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and
the demonstration of divine Science, thereby casting out devils, or error, and healing the sick."
(pg. 583 Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy)
"Hold perpetually this thought, -- that it is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost and Christ, which enables you to demonstrate, with scientific certainty, the rule of healing, based upon its divine Principle, Love, underlying, overlying, and encompassing all true being." (pg. 496:15 Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy)
